An Appeal for Assistance and Support

The Bodhiraja Foundation relies solely on the generous donations from well wishers and devotees to support its many programmes and services. Without such support, many of the poor people living in Embilipitiya would be deprived of education, medical care, aid and proper living conditions. Your kind support and contribution would go a long way to helping us to help others. And you too would gain enormous merit by the grace of such generous acts.

Support and funds are needed for the following schemes:

Adopt-a-Bhikkhu Scheme

The cost of supporting a Bhikkhu (student monk) at the Bhikkhu Training Center is US$10.00 a month for his basic necessities.

Support-a-child Scheme

The cost of maintaining a child at the Sri Bodhiraja Orphanage is US$12.00 at month.

Scholarship Programme

The cost to support a child on a scholarship programme is US$10.00 per month.

Health Care Fund/Bhikkhu Ward Maintenance

To support the medical needs of those under the Foundation’s health care programmes and maintain the bhikkhu ward, a special health care fund has been set up. Spectacles, contact lenses and other medical supplies are needed to meet the growing needs of these services.

Building Fund

Among the many projects slated for completion in 2003 is a preaching hall in Embilipitiya. A special building fund has been set up for this purpose. The building cost for this project is estimated to be about US$40 000. We look forward to your kind support to reach our target.
